Biological Pillar
In Ratatouille, Remy has the gift of small and uses his senses to sniff out flavors, ingredients and in some cases rat poison. Remy then begins to use his gift when tasting food, feeling the flavors and such with his mind. This relates to Sensation in the Biological pillar because he uses his nose to smell the bad sensation/feeling of rat poison in the apple his dad was about to eat, saving his life. He then uses sensation again when eating strawberry and cheese together, feeling the sensation of the flavors dance and mix throughout his taste buds.
Cognition Pillar
Remy finds his way into Gusteau's restaurant and as he is trying to escape he watches as Linguini messes up the soup, causing him to stay and fix it. This uses Intelligence and Memory due to the fact he can remember the ingredients, flavors, and recipes in order to fix the soup. He then uses Intelligence on cooking to make it correctly/better than it was before hand. His and Intelligence allow him to fix the soup and show off his culinary skills without the outside world seeing him as a rat- he is living through the credit of a human.
Life Span Development and Learning Pillar
Linguini's mom or guardian passed away which we only find out when the chef discusses it with his sous chef. This related to Life-Span due to how her life sadly ended but she is using her influence to help him take the next step in his. We don't exactly know which stage of life she was in but it does explain her life-span to some degree.
Social and Personality Pillar
Remy is told by his dad to stay away from humans and just be a normal rat like the others, before taking him to a store with dead rats in the window to show him humans are dangerous. This is an example of Conformity and Persuasion, Remy's dad almost persuades him to conform and go back to the colony instead of staying with the humans in Paris. Remy avoids conforming towards a normal rat life but the persuasion tactics make him think ahead and strengthen his beliefs.
Mental and Physical Health
Linguini introduces Remy to the chefs of the kitchen along with Anton but is left with everyone judging and leaving him- only Collette returns at first. This is an example of how Social Norms affect people. At first people found Remy disgusting and unable to do anything but steal and cause trouble but once his skills are established and recognized by him in the end of the movie he gets his own restaurant and is recognized. The Social Norms of the movie are shifted much like they can be in real life, people don't like things out of order of different but can change.
